A 19 year old was listed in critical condition at University Hospital after he fell from a float in a St. Patrick's Day parade.

State Police Troop B investigated the serious injury crash that occurred on U.S. 61 northbound at Ridgewood Drive. The float was being pulled by a 2006 Dodge Pick-up traveling in the center lane at approximately 25 mph when Bradley Navas, 19, of Kenner lost his balance and fell from the float knocking another rider to the ground along the way, according to authorities.

Navas was transported to University Hospital where he is still listed in critical condition. The second rider only suffered minor injuries and was treated on the scene and released.

The driver of the Dodge, Russell P. Boudreaux, was not cited in the crash, which is still under investigation. State Police suspect Navas was under the influence of alcohol, which may have been a factor in the fall.
