Top 20 states for tornadoes ... in March, Louisiana’s No. 10

The VorTek weather-analysis company has named the Top 20 most tornado-prone states for the month of March - and Louisiana is smack No. 10.

The rankings, based on a computer analysis of National Weather Service data from 1950 through 2005, are as follows:

1. Arkansas. 2. Mississippi. 3. Georgia. 4. North Carolina. 5. Alabama. 6. South Carolina. 7. Tennessee. 8. Kansas. 9. Indiana. 10. Louisiana.

11. Illinois. 12. Oklahoma. 13. Minnesota. 14. Kentucky. 15. Missouri. 16. Iowa. 17. Texas. 18. New Jersey. 19. Nebraska. 20. Florida.
