Marguerite Marie Dinvaut D’ Arensbourg on Friday, September 16, 2005 at her grand daughter’s residence in Prairieville, LA, at 2:00pm. Daughter of the late Alice Moll and Ferdinand Dinvaut. Wife of the late Norman N. D’Arensbourg. Mother of Norman D’Arensbourg, Jr., and Glenn D’Arensbourg, Sr. Sister of Franceline D. Bordenave, Theresa D. Hicklin, Gloria D. Allian, the late Ruth D. Duronslet, Eleanora D. Biagas, Alice D. Banderas, Pearl, Ferdinand, III, Newton, Rupert and Joseph Dinvaut. Grandmother of Jeannee D’Arensbourg, Jate’m D’Arensbourg Guillory, Jolenn D’Arensbourg, and Glenn D’Arensbourg, Jr. Great Grandmother of Scott Guillory, Jr., Lindsey Guillory, Glenn D’Arensbourg, III and Nickolas D’Arensbourg, Jr. Also survived by a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Age 85. years. A native of Edgard, LA, and a resident of Luling, LA. Relatives and friends of the family were invited to attend funeral services at Holy Family Catholic Church on March 2, 2006. Jimmie J. Smith on Sunday, February 26, 2006 at St. Charles Hospital, Luling, LA. Son of James Smith, Jr. and the late Aldonia Turley Smith. Stepson of Bernetta Smith. Husband of Joyce Smith. Father of Crystal, Jimmey, Susan and Jeannette Smith. Brother of Otis and DeRon Smith, Mildred Blount, Sandra Campbell, Yvonne Gaudet, Joyce Morgan, and the late Ronald Smith. Step brother of Dennis, Nathaniel, Murphy and Ezell Wheeler and McArthur Webster. Also survived by 4 grandchildren and a host of neices, nephews, other relatives and friends. Age 52 years. A native of Norco, LA and a resident of Hahnville, LA. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of Greater Good Hope Baptist Church and all neighboring churches were invited to attend the funeral service at the above church on March 6, 2006. Millet
Clarence “Cookie” Millet, Sr, age 78, passed away Thursday, March 2, 2006 at St. Joseph Nursing Home and Rehab Center. Beloved husband of 59 years to Gertle Duhe Millet. Father of Linda M. Madere and son-in-law Dave; Marilyn M. Jacob and son-in-law Jake; and Bub Millet and daughter-in-law Michele. Twelve grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. Brother of Walter Millet, Jr., Carrie Trosclair, Myrtle Weber, Jewel Millet and Marguerite Bleakly. He was preceded in death by his sister; Nellie Pfister Lalche; and parents: Walter Millet, Sr. and Nellie Cooper. He was a resident of Destrehan, LA., and a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Men of Manresa, and The American Legion Post 366.
Friends and relatives of the family were invited to attend a Mass of Christain Burial on Saturday, March 4, 2006 at 1:30 pm at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Destrehan, LA. Father Harry Bulger, celebrant. In lieu of flowers, masses are preferred. Alexander Funeral Home of Norco, LA, in charge of arrangements.
Baudouin
Irby Telesphore Baudouin, Jr., age 88, on Thursday, February 23, 2006, in Humble, TX after evacuating. Beloved husband of the late Lois Caillet Baudouin. Loving father of Lois Bishop, Catherine Burrage, Irby T. Baudouin III, Jane Lindsly and Gary Baudouin. Grandfather of Julie, Anne Marie, Ryan, Lindsay, Carrie, Irby, Allison, Mallory, Andrew and Emily. Great grandfather of 6. Son of the late Irby T. Baudouin Sr. and Virginia Mouser and the late Waldo and Richard Baudouin. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Mr. Baudouin was an active member of St. Mary Magdalen Church. He received the medal of St. Louis and was a member of the Knights of Columbus and St. Vincent de Paul Society. He retired from Texaco after 43 years of service and was a member of the Landsman’s Assn. and Texaco Retirees. He was a native of Hahnville, LA for the past 47 years. The relatives and friends of the family were invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Magdalen Church, 6425 W. Metairie Ave., Metairie, LA., on Saturday, March 4, 2006 at 11:45 am. Interment was at Metairie Cemetery. Arrangements by Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home.

Dr. Rodney Lafon boiled down his decision to announce his retirement last month to a simple factor. With 40 years accumulated in the school system he had come to a point in his career where he would make nearly the same yearly salary as a retiree as if he chose to continue working.
