Unemployment dips in St. Charles Parish, outlook is good, too
Labor statistics reports show more people are working in the state and in the parish, with the Louisiana Department of Labor reporting a decline in the unemployment rate for December, the latest figures available.
November’s rate for the state was 4.5 percent and the December rate dropped to 4.3 percent. St. Charles Parish’s unemployment rate decreased to 4.5 percent in Dec. 2006 from a 4.9 percent rate in Nov. of 2006. In Dec. 2005 10.4 percent of the parish was unemployed.
