Christians and non-Christians invited to Bible Study in Luling
The last in a series of three bible studies by Dr. Brant Pitre will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 31 at 7:00 p.m. at Holy Family Center in Luling. The presentation is free and open to the public. Attending the previous sessions is not necessary.
This fascinating study is geared toward persons who are curious about the origin of the Bible and why it is considered to be the Word of God. A Q&A session will follow the presentation and Dr. Pitre will gladly speak with anyone after the event for further discussion.
Rally against the attack on Jesus and Mary at 2006 Mardi Gras parade
A rally to defend the honor of Jesus and Mary will be held on Saturday, Feb. 3 at New Orleans City Hall (1300 Perdido St.) from 1:30-3:30 p.m.
Jesus and Mary were attacked in unspeakable ways in the 2005 New Orleans Mardi Gras Krew de Vieux parade in the French Quarter - just six months before Katrina swept in from the ocean. Until today, public reparation was not done. ou can change that by joining Catholics in this public act of prayer and reparation. Organizations and prayer groups are invited to bring banners. FEMA deadline passes with no new flood rates - 614 views
After indicating they would release new flood insurance rates by June 1 to be applied to local homes under the Biggert-Waters Act, the Federal Emergency Management Agency has said the release of that information will now be delayed.
