Local teen named Miss VFW for state of Louisiana

Harley Kinler
Harley Kinler, daughter of Michael and Holly Kinler of Luling, was recently crowned Miss V.F.W. at the State Convention of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Alexandria.

She is a 2014 graduate of Hahnville High School and was sponsored by West St. Charles Post and Auxiliary #3750 of Luling. Kinler won a local beauty pageant before she was sent on to the statewide contest.   

Commander Bobby Lovergne and Auxiliary President Sherry Lewis presided over the local annual contest.

A domestic dispute at a Montz residence escalated to an argument and a stabbing with a pocket knife on Saturday.
Shortly after the altercation, Jessica Prater, 27, of 570 Evangeline Road in Montz, was arrested and charged with attempted second-degree murder after allegedly stabbing her domestic partner, Kyle Landry, according to the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office.
