4 arrested in connection with St. Rose murder
A New Orleans man was shot to death on Kennedy Street in St. Rose on Monday morning in what St. Charles Parish Sheriff Greg Champagne called a drug deal gone bad.

Officers responded to the scene after residents in the area heard gunfire at around 5 a.m. When police arrived, they discovered the body of 21-year-old Richard Bailey, who had been shot several times.

Later that day, the Sheriff’s Office arrested four people in connection with Bailey’s murder. Anthony Rotondi, 21, of 631 Olivier St. in New Orleans, was charged with principal to first-degree murder. The other three people arrested were charged with the attempted distribution of drugs. They are: David Hunter Jr., 17, of 144 Kennedy St. in St. Rose, Pedro Furlan Jr., 19, of 1061 Sandalwood Drive in Harvey and Courtney Ward, 18, of 3404 Lemon St. in Metairie.

Police are still searching for a fifth man thought to be responsible for the shooting.

The incident is under investigation and anyone with information on the murder is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office at (985) 783-6807.
