Graduates have bright future in St. Charles

Graduation time is here again in St. Charles Parish and it is a time of celebration for the many who made the grade. The future looks bright as those graduates move on to the many possibilities of their adult lives.

Our area offers many opportunities in employment, whether our graduates choose to move into college, trade school or out into the workforce right away and begin their services to the world now. Whichever they choose, St. Charles Parish is a promising place in which to eventually locate considering the great opportunities here now and to come.

The Port of New Orleans seems about to explode in attracting industry because of the enlargement of the Panama Canal, which will accommodate bigger ships that can attract industries to the area from throughout the world. Many of those businesses offer the most promising jobs for local graduates.

We give thanks to our parish education system that has been doing a super job for many years in preparing our students for worthwhile work here and elsewhere. It is rated as one of the best public school systems in the state.

But tomorrow is another day for our graduates at Destrehan and Hahnville high schools. They will be past an important part of their lives that hopefully has prepared them for years of worthwhile adult living.

In addition to the many opportunities for employment and the opening of business ventures, southeast Louisiana is really a great place in which to live. So much interesting history abounds along the lower delta of the Mississippi River that one cannot neglect delving into it.

In addition, St. Charles is perhaps the most beautiful parish in the state. Our hunting and fishing opportunities are also among the greatest in the world.

Plus, the people who live here are among the most enjoyable to be with in social and business ventures, and the big city next door has enough entertainment to make it one of the top vacation spots throughout the world.

Graduates, enjoy your escalation into our society and make the most of it. You have achieved an important step in your life. Now, get prepared for an even more wonderful life ahead.
