Women’s retreat held at local church
On March 29, the congregations of Luling United Methodist Church and First Union Presbyterian Church hosted a Christian Women’s Retreat in Luling.

At attendance at the retreat, “Come to the Well,” were 49 local women.

Participants had a chance to immerse themselves in scripture, while spending time with other women and sharing moments of fellowship, reflection, prayer, worship and laughter.

The day-long women’s retreat was led by Rev. Deanna Matthews Young, an Ordained Elder in the United Methodist Church. She serves as an Associate Pastor at Christ Church United Methodist located in The Woodlands, Texas. Rev. Young displayed her passion for helping others live into the fullness of life as a follower of Jesus Christ.

Praise and worship music was led by the band, i-Witness.  Church officials said it was a wonderful day filled with worship, praise, song, and renewal.  The following Sunday the congregations celebrated Women’s Sunday with all aspects of the service, including the sermon, led by women of the church.
