Charles Lindy Mayfield, 86, of Luling, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, March 20.

Beloved husband of Bernuce Ladd Mayfield for 65 years. Son of the late Clovis D. Mayfield and Lena Jackson Mayfield. Loving and devoted father of Charles Dwain Mayfield (wife Emily), David Allen Mayfield and Steven Lee Mayfield (wife Kelli).

Grandfather of Blake, Sydney, Jake, Tyler, Laura Lee, Jeremiah, Gabriel and Hannah.

Lindy moved to Luling from Arkansas with Lion Oil Company. He was a resident of Luling for 60 years. He graduated from Southeastern University in Durant, Okla. and served two years with the Oklahoma 45 Division of the National Guard; six months of duty was in Korea during the Korean War. He retired from Union Carbide after 17 years of service. He was also a Charter Member of the Bible Center Church in Luling.
