LULING – The St. Charles Parish Parks and Recreation Department, in conjunction with the Arc of St. Charles, will present a prom for citizens living with developmental or physical disabilities from 6 until 9 p.m. on Sunday, April 6.

The carnival-themed event is the brainchild of Destrehan High School senior Jillian Shnowski as part of her senior project. It will feature refreshments, carnival games, face painting and a caricature artist. Attendants will also be able to take portraits. The entry fee is $5, and the event is open to ages 12 and older.

The Parks and Recreation Department intends to add this event to its athletes with disabilities programming on an annual basis.

The event will be held at the Edward A. Dufresne Community Center, located at 274 Judge Edward Dufresne Parkway in Luling.

Those wishing to attend should RSVP by April 1 to (985) 233-0082.
