Barton Avenue in Luling closed through May
A portion of Barton Avenue in Luling has been closed for road construction that began March 17 and will be ongoing through May.

The Louisiana Department of Transportation DOTD made the announcement this morning that the roadway would undergo reconstruction between River Road and the Union Pacific Railroad tracks.

No traffic will be allowed to cross over on Barton Avenue from Highway 90 to River Road. DOTD is encouraging drivers to use Paul Maillard Road as an alternate route for through traffic.

“We are maintaining access for locals. Any other traffic would have to use that alternate route,” Lauren Lee, a DOTD spokesperson, said.
