Playoff semifinals players of the week
Facing a tough Acadiana defense that limited Destrehan to only seven points, junior running back Will Matthews still managed to put together an impressive game. Matthews scored on a 25-yard run on Destrehan’s first possession to give his team an early 7-0 lead. He also led his team in yardage for the game, finishing with 64 yards on 11 carries for an average of 5.8 yards per carry.
Facing the toughest offense of the season, senior linebacker RaeJuan Marbley still managed to make quite an impact. Marbley finished with eight tackles and three assists in his final game for the Wildcats. The linebacker, who Destrehan head coach Stephen Robicheaux calls one of the team’s best leaders, has already committed to Tulane University.
