Easton Melancon threw for 2,386 yards, led Louisiana College to 5-1 conference record

Former Hahnville High School quarterback Easton Melancon received a huge honor last week when he was named Freshman of the Year for the American Southwest Conference.

Melancon led Louisiana College to a 5-1 record in conference play and ranked second in the league in passing with 2,386 yards. Melancon finished third in the conference for both yards per game (238.6) and total offense (2,298).

Melancon is one of just two freshmen quarterbacks in NCAA Division III with 24 touchdown passes on the year.
