Soldiers memorialized in Des Allemands
Numerous attendees turned up at the annual ceremony held at the fallen soldiers memorial in Des Allemands on Veteran’s Day.

The ceremony was conducted by Hahnville High School ROTC and honored five former soldiers. Navy officer P.J. Rogers,  Army Soldier, John Dempster, Jr.,  Marine officer Gerald Deroche,  Army solder and P.O.W.  Sidney Tregre and Air Force officer and Luke Boyer here honored. 

   The large turnout included many area residents, ROTC students and leaders, Buddy Boe, chief administration officer with the St. Charles Parish government, and former Parish President Albert Laque.

The St. Charles Parish Council Monday unanimously approved Chevron U.S.A.’s request to not install berms, weirs or hydrologic structures in any canals in the Sunset Drainage District boundaries that could alter the drainage patterns and retention.
