NEW ORLEANS - The 2013 Making Strides Walk will take place Saturday, Oct. 19 with registration starting at 7:30 a.m. and the walk beginning at 9 a.m.

The Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event is an opportunity to unite as a community to honor breast cancer survivors, raise awareness about what can be done to reduce breast cancer risk, and raise money to help the American Cancer Society fight the disease with breast cancer research, information and services and access to mammograms for women who need them.The event will be held at New Orleans Lakefront behind UNO Lakefront Arena on Franklin Ave and Lakeshore Drive.
