Clara Dunn Duran, 78, a native and resident of Des Allemands passed away on Friday Sept. 20.

Visitation was held at Samart-Mothe Funeral Chapel in Mathews on Monday from 6  p.m. until funeral time. Funeral Services were held in the chapel at 9 p.m. with a private burial at a later date.

She is survived by her husband, Hermeleo “Joe” Duran Sr.; son, Oscar Duran; daughters, Deborah Mauroner, Ramona Pasquale; sister, Marie Rome; nine grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Bertha Boudreaux Dunn; son, Hermeleo Duran Jr.; brother, Ernest Perez; grandchild, Pasquinel “Creature” Duran; and great-grandchild, Chase Duran.

Samart-Mothe Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Former St. Charles Parish District Attorney Harry Morel Jr., who on Wednesday was accused of preying on more than 20 women, pleaded guilty to obstruction of justice in federal court.

The obstruction charge stems from allegations that Morel harassed a grand jury witness and attempted to destroy evidence against him.
