Griffin
Dick “Pick” Griffin died on Tuesday, Dec. 5 at 2 a.m. at St. Charles Hospital in Luling. A native and lifelong resident of Boutte. Age 54 years. Father of Bonnie Naquin, son of Ellis and Elma Griffin. Brother of Gerald Griffin, Ellis Griffin Jr., Donald Griffin, Irma Vicknair, Dolores Gassen, Audrey Breaux, Mary Leblanc, Phyllis Breaux and Annette Gray. Also survived by four grandchildren. Relative and friend of the family were invited to attend the mass of Christian burial at St. John Baptist Catholic Church in Paradis on Dec. 7. Interment was held at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Raceland. Falgout Funeral Homes in charge of arrangement.
Sellers
Hicks Youngs Sellers, born April 1, 1958, a native of the Mozella area and resident of Carriere, Mississippi, died on October 27 at 3:28 p.m. in Forest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Son of the late John Luther Sellers and Mary Shadell Sellers Louisiana. Survived by daughter Aimee Sellers and loving companion Joyce Ford with two daughters Kimberly Hearndon and Rhianna Chapman. Brother of John Thomas Sellers, Walter Luther Sellers, Emma Sellers Rousse, Phoebe Sellers Cellos, Earl John Picou, Edward Frank Picou, Julian Eugene Picou and Phillip Richard Picou. A memorial for Hicks Youngs Sellers will be placed in the Youngs Cemetery in Mozella, Louisiana.

Millicent Carter Young, resident od Des Allemands, stepped into a new beginning with Jesus on Nov. 22 at Chabert Hospital of Houma. Daughter of Yvonne Carter of Luling and the late Eilbert Carter. Mother of Veronica, April, Rolanda, Jennifer, Millie and Julius (B.J.). Sister of Annette (Lloyd) Armstrong, Yolanda (Patrick) Cannon, Freddie Carter, Harry (Barbara) Carter, Wilbert “James” Carter, future sister-in-law Gloria Long. Grandmother of D’Quanz, De’Ronz, An’Quonz, Nyanze, Kiewann and Jeremiah (deceased). Future mother-in-law of Corey, Dwayne and Marzette. Niece of Doris (Walter) Anderson, Jean (Arthur) Thigpen, Thomas C. Young, Louaidar (late June Harris, JoAnn (George) Hunter, Myrdel (Andrew) Coleman, Harriet Young, Iris Young, Barbara (John) Lee, Cynthia (late John) Smith, James Young, Faye Carter and the late Patricia Young and Curtis Young; one great aunt Lois Eugene of St. Rose, on god son Lance Smith. Wife of Julius Young Sr. Relatives and friends of the family. Also pastors, officers and members of the Antioch BC, Bell BC, Mt. Airy BC, Mt. Zion BC, First BC and Grace Fellowship churches and all neighboring churches were invited to attend the funeral services at Antioch Baptist Church, 16461 Old Spanish Trail, Des Allemands on Dec. 2, pastored by the Rev. Dr. Mitchel Bolden, Jr. Service begins at 11 a.m. Interment was at Shellmound Cemetery.
