16U advances to World Series after regional win

The St. Charles 16U All-Star softball team went undefeated in the Babe Ruth Southwest Regional Tournament held in Houma to win the regional title. The Southwest Region consisted of teams from Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Mississippi and Louisiana.

Bailee Kaplan was named MVP of the tournament with a batting average of .700 with one home run. The team will now advance to the Babe Ruth World Series in Wilson County, N.C., which will be held Aug. 1-7.
