Vacation bible school

DESTREHAN - The St. Charles United Methodist Church will hold a vacation bible school from July 29-Aug. 2 from 8:45 a.m.-noon.

“Come to Capernaum” will be the setting this year. The fellowship hall will be turned into a biblical times fishing village. Children will become a part of village life as they listen to Jesus call his disciples, watch him heal Jairus’ daughter and hear the thunder as he calms the storm.

Opportunities to participate in drama, carpentry, synagogue school, mosaics and the food shop with their tribal families aims to help attendees better understand the daily life during Jesus’ short time on this earth.
