Man charged with beating up father, causing brain bleeding

A 38-year-old Luling man has been arrested for beating up his own father, according to the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office.

In November of 2006, Terrance Bourgeois, of 1228 Paul Fredrick St., was allegedly involved in a fight with his father. Bourgeois punched his dad several times, which caused his father to fall and hit his head on a concrete driveway, according to Capt. Pat Yoes, Sheriff’s Office spokesman.

The father was rushed to the hospital and received treatment for a broken right foot and a brain contusion that caused internal bleeding.

Yoes said an arrest warrant was issued for Bourgeois after the attack, but deputies weren’t able to track him down until last week.

Bourgeois is being charged with second-degree battery and two counts of contempt of court.
