HMS had 13 students represented in the District VII Middle School Honor Choir.

Katelyn Belozerows, Victoria Belozerows, Katie Fisk, Colleen Mahler, Matt Lewis and Mitchel Taravishili auditioned last November and were selected to participate in the 90-member choir, which held their performance earlier this year at Central Lafouche High School. Evan Keller, and Trevon Baudoin were grandfathered in since they already auditioned and made All-State Choir last August.

Ashlyn Cannon, Gabby Charron, Harleigh Dahl and Jonathon Dahl were selected to perfom in the District VII Elementary Honor Choir after auditioning in November. Conner Fisk was also grandfathered in since he auditioned and made All-State Choir last August.

Students traveled to Nicholls State University every Thursday in January to rehearse for 2 hours, spent all day Friday the 25th in rehearsals and then presented the concert on Saturday. The elementary students had Mary Dean-Luquette, the choir director from Cammon as their guest conductor.

All students are members of the HMS Choir under the direction of Karl Harrod and Sarah Melohn.
