Betty Martin Loupe, 77, a native of Raceland and a resident of Des Allemands was called to eternal rest on April 10.

She is survived by her children Artene L. Hall, Claudia L. Cortez (Kruzer), Theresa Lynne L. Pickett (Ray), Claude "Brud" Loupe (companion Kyle) and Adam Loupe (Melissa) and Al Loupe; grandchildren, Corey Johnson, Rebecca Hall, Christopher Pickett Sr. (Terena), Ryan Hall, Aaron Cortez, Lauren Cortez and Lawrence Loupe; three step-grandchildren, Keegan Finkenbiner, Cameron Fuller and Autumn Fuller and one great-grandchild, Christopher Pickett Jr. Sister of Loraine Pierce, Michael Martin and Pamela Martin.

Preceded in death by husband Lawrence "La Lan" Loupe, daugher Irene Loupe, parents Lawrence Martin Sr. and Irene Martin and two brothers, Norris Martin and Lawrence Martin Jr.

She was a member of St. Gertrude Ladies Altar Society, a volunteer for the Catfish Festival and CCD teacher. She was 2008 grand marshal for the Des Allemands parade. She was also an avid LSU and Saints fan.
