A.A. Songy Elementary students tour EMS units
Showing children that ambulances do not have to be scary, St. Charles EMS gave students at A.A. Songy Kindergarten a chance to see the parish’s new EMS units up close.

Paramedics gave classes a tour of the unit’s interior and answered their questions about how to handle an emergency.

The importance of dialing 911 was stressed as well as the idea that Paramedics and EMTs are your friends and save lives every day.

The students were also treated to a demonstration on how blood pressures are taken and got a chance to listen to their own heartbeat. Hospital officals said the students’ favorite part was the demonstration of the ambulances lights and sirens.
