Norman Thomas Rome, 66, a native and resident of Des Allemands, died on Friday, Feb. 22.
Visitation was held Tuesday at St. Gertrude Catholic Church in Des Allemands. A funeral mass was held at the church with burial following in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Thibodeaux Rome; son, Randall Joseph Rome and wife Cary; siblings, Clifford Rome, Nancy Dowouis, Mavis Jones; and two granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Chefter and Myrtle Fonseca Rome; siblings, Herbert Rome and Beatrice Reulet.

Court tosses out 75-year sentence - 968 views
A 43-year-old man who was sentenced to 75 years in jail for molestation of a juvenile and sexual battery will be retried after his sentence was thrown out by an appellate court due to a technicality.
