Fisher-Perrier wins 7th district council seat
Fisher-Perrier is an insurance agent for Riverlands who has lived in District 7 for 30 years. Her family has roots in the area stretching back to the 1940s. She graduated from Hahnville High School in 1998 and attended the University of New Orleans, where she was a political science/pre-law major.
Fisher-Perrier said she has always had an interest in politics and made a promise to herself to fulfill her interest in government at some point. That time is now.
"My family has a deep-rooted political history in St. Charles Parish, which was exposed to me as a child," she said. "My grandfather, L.K. Fisher Sr., was a police juror years ago and his involvement was always interesting to me. I planned on getting into government at some point and now the opportunity has presented itself.
"I’m excited to learn, I’m here to help and I am ready to be a part of this great parish’s group of leaders."
Fisher-Perrier said the main issue she hopes to tackle is the completion of a levee system on the West Bank. She also feels District 7 has been well attended under previous Councilman Dennis Nuss’ leadership and she plans to build upon that by making herself available to her constituents.
