Thomas Lamar Mars "Biggus," 66, passed away on Feb. 8.

Biggus completed his "journey" to our Lord in Heaven on Friday at 1:30 p.m. He died peacefully at home with his wife and children by his side. Tommy was a loving husband, father, poppa bear, and will truly be missed by anyone who’s had the pleasure of knowing him.

He worked as an electrician at Monsanto Chemical for over 20 years, and was an avid deer hunter. Tommy was survived by his wife Connie Mars, daughters Misty Mars and Tammy Prine, Son-in-law Woody Prine, and grandchildren Alyssa, Journie, and Charley.

A "Life Celebration" memorial will be held Friday, Feb. 15 at Ormond Plantation in Destrehan from 9 a.m. until noon. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations to be made to cancer research.
