Destrehan High School math teachers Kailyn Brabham and Dawn Jacobi were recently honored at the 2012 Louisiana Teachers of Math Convention in Shreveport.

Brabham, who is in her third year of teaching, was honored as the Outstanding New Teacher, an award given to a teacher with less than three years of experience who has exhibited extraordinary skills as a classroom practitioner and mathematician. Jacobi, the current Math Department Chair, is in her eighteenth year at DHS. She was honored with the Outstanding Math Service award for her dedication to helping students of all ability levels succeed in their math studies and for supporting DHS math teachers as they promote excellence in their own classrooms.
