Hahnville defensive end Juvon Gales has committed to play football at Stephen F. Austin University.

Gales (6í3", 285 pounds) finished his senior season with 55 tackles and 6.5 sacks. He also scored a defensive touchdown for the Tigers. Gales chose Stephen F. Austin over offers from Nicholls, Southeastern and Southern. He was also considering Minnesota and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.

"I like Stephen F. Austin as a whole and it is close to home," Gales said. "I have a really good chance of starting as a freshman, too."
