Blackie is a sweet lab mix who is still looking for a home. Humane Society officials reports that he knows lots of tricks and is also a standup comic.

Candy is 22 weeks old, she is a husky mix. At the shelter they call her Candy because she is so sweet. According to Humane Society officials this puppy is very playful, loves toys and adores people.

In addition to this week’s showcase pets, there are plenty of very playful pets whose only wish is to have a home.

The St. Charles Animal Parish Shelter is located at 921 Rue Cannes in Luling. For more information on pet adoptions you can call them at (985) 783-5010.

Both dogs will be available for adoption at "Bark in Park" Saturday. Humane Society officials encourage potential owners to come out and see them.
