Every year since 1986, state-wide community, civic, healthcare and government leaders join family, friends and peers to honor the top 100 nurses statewide.

This year, St. Charles Parish Hospital nurses Lynn C. Hamilton, Bruce M. Pizzolato and Christa M. Duplantis were recognized as three of the Great 100 Nurses of Louisiana.

The three winners from St. Charles Parish Hospital joined the rest of the Great 100 at a celebration in which they were all honored for their continued contributions to humanity and the furthering of superior healthcare.

Since the inception of Great 100, the panel has used the same "CARE" model and questions in determining the candidates.

St. Charles Parish Hospital officials said they are proud to have three nurses in Louisiana’s greatest 100.

Hospital officials said the selected nurses exemplify what it takes to be not only a caring and dependable nurse, but also a hardworking professional in the healthcare field.
