Destrehan junior quarterback Donovan Isom was named the Herald-Guide’s Offensive Player of the Year for the Wildcats.

In his first year as starter, Isom completed 122 of his 193 passes for 1,805 yards and six touchdowns. Isom threw only seven interceptions all season. Additionally, the big quarterback was a danger on the ground, racking up 477 rushing yards and eight touchdowns.

Isom’s best game of the season came in the Wildcat’s 42-21 loss to Dutchtown. He completed 22 of his 34 passes for 216 yards and rushed for an additional 122 yards with three touchdowns. Isom also threw for 301 yards in his team’s overtime loss to Hahnville to finish the season.
