Senior linebacker Gabe Taylor was named the Herald-Guide’s Defensive Player of the Year for the Tigers.

Hahnville senior linebacker Gabe Taylor was named the Herald-Guide’s Defensive Player of the Year for the Tigers.

Taylor made big plays all over the field throughout the season and finished with more than 100 tackles. The linebacker also recorded 21 tackles for loss, a number of sacks, three forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries and an interception on the season.

One of Taylor’s best games this year came against John Ehret. In that game, Taylor had 10 tackles, five assists, two tackles for loss, a fumble recovery and a forced fumble. Taylor also had an interception and two forced fumbles in his team’s loss to Edna Karr and finished with 14 solo tackles against Bonnabel.
