Hahnville senior running back Sergio Medina was named the Herald-Guide’s Offensive Player of the Year for the Tigers.

Though Medina started the season at middle linebacker, he was moved to running back for the fifth game of the season. Medina responded by rushing for 1,047 yards and 15 touchdowns in only seven games. Eight of Medina’s touchdowns came in the last three games of the season. The seniors best performance of the season came against rival Destrehan. In that game, Medina rushed for 240 yards on 40 carries and scored four touchdowns.

Hahnville head coach Lou Valdin expects that scholarship offers from division one colleges will start coming in soon for the back.
