5 vehicles burglarized in Willowdale
Car burglars broke into five vehicles in Willowdale Subdivision on Sunday night, according to St. Charles Parish Sheriff Greg Champagne.

Four cars were broken into in front of three homes on Weinnig Drive while one vehicle was burglarized on Cathy Drive. Items taken during the burglaries include cash, checkbooks and electronics.

“We believe the burglaries occurred at around 3 a.m. as a neighbor reported dogs parking,” Champagne said. “(We are) unsure (if) all vehicles were locked as there did not appear to be forced entry.”

Stolen property from one of the burglaries was found on the golf course behind a home adjacent to Beaupre Drive. Champagne said it was possible that the crime scene was accessed from the 200 block of Beaupre.

“Residents need to be aware and vigilant,” Champagne said. “If anyone has video surveillance in the general area, please check your footage and let us know if you recorded anything unusual. The odds are the perpetrators approached more vehicles than these five.”
