Lady Wildcats fall to H.L. Bourgeois in volleyball regionals

H.L. Bourgeois defeated the Lady Wildcats in three close sets, 25-17, 26-24, 26-24.
Destrehan was led by Allison Marrs, who finished with seven kills. Alicia Radecker tallied 14 digs, while Catherine Beck finished with 20 assists. Taylor Vinet served up one ace.
Destrehan, who finished the season with a 25-17 record, had advanced to the regionals after beating Chalmette in the bi-district round.
The Lady Wildcats won that series in three-straight games, 25-22, 25-19 and 25-14.
H.L. Bourgeois will move on to the state quarterfinals to face No. 1 seed Mt. Carmel.

FEMA deadline passes with no new flood rates - 618 views
After indicating they would release new flood insurance rates by June 1 to be applied to local homes under the Biggert-Waters Act, the Federal Emergency Management Agency has said the release of that information will now be delayed.
