A 30-year-old Popeye’s employee in Destrehan was robbed on Saturday night while emptying the garbage cans outside the business, according to the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office.

The victim was surprised by a black male with a cloth covering his face who jumped out from behind the dumpster. The victim told police that the robber also had his hand wrapped in a white cloth and pointed it at him like he had a gun.

When the robber demanded money, the victim complied and the suspect fled the scene.

Anyone with information regarding this crime is asked to contact Det. Baird with the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office at (985)783-1135 or (985)783-6807.
