Mimosa Park Elementary Library “Captain’s Crew”
Mimosa Park Elementary Library’s Captain’s Crew is a title given to the top fifteen first and second grade students who participate in the Library’s reading program.

These students earn this honor by reading the most number of minutes on a monthly basis. Captain’s Crew members receive a certificate, book, treat from a Mariano’s Italian Eatery and a personalized sailor hat.

Nearly five months after 23-year-old Ramal Ellis was found shot to death behind the church where he volunteered his time, officials with the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office say suspects have been identified in connection with the murder, though any arrests will have to wait until the evidence is fully processed.
