Community fair
LULING - The “Empowerment of One” community fair will be held Saturday, Sept. 8 from 11a.m.-3 p.m.
This event is free and open to the public. Local companies and organizations will be in attendance including Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, the Louisiana Small Business Development Center, St. Charles United Way, Just Kids Dental and more. The focus of the fair is to empower the community as a new school year begins.
The fair will be held at R.K. Smith Middle School at 281 Judge Edward Dufresne Parkway in Luling.

FEMA deadline passes with no new flood rates - 606 views
After indicating they would release new flood insurance rates by June 1 to be applied to local homes under the Biggert-Waters Act, the Federal Emergency Management Agency has said the release of that information will now be delayed.
