Informational meeting on port expansion project
MONTZ - An informational meeting on expansions at the Port of South Louisiana will be held Tuesday, Aug. 28 at 6:30 p.m. at Providence B.C. #2 at 152 Union Lane in Montz.
Residents are encouraged to attend this meeting to discuss a proposed expansion of the port.
Port officials want to build a container terminal on the Mississippi River to take advantage of anticipated traffic from the increased capacity of the Panama Canal in 2014 that will allow larger ships to traverse the canal.
Residents are asked to consider how the construction and increased industrial and commercial traffic may affect them.
