HAHNVILLE - Dow’s 100-million-pound “capacity expansion” at a Union Carbide Corporation facility here will create 100 new jobs in 2007 and 275 jobs later on, says a spokesman.

The additional capacity will help meet growing demand for - take a deep breath here, folks - “monoethanolamine,” a chemical used in personal care products and other applications.

Expected to be online by the fall of 2007, the expansion will create an average of 100 contract jobs early on, with a peak of 275 jobs as time passes.
