Ruben Terry Vinnett, Sr., 61, passed away on Sunday, June 24, 2012 at St. Charles Hospital.
Son of Theodore Russell Vinnett and the late Olethia Marbley Vinnett. Husband by first marriage of the late Dianne Rainey Vinnett and by second marriage of the late Brenda Alexis Vinnett. Father of Tiffany Vinnett Borne (Lloyd) of Hahnville and Ruben Terry Vinnett, Jr. of New Sarpy. Grandfather of Terry Vinnett (fiance’ Chelsea), Domiyon Vinnett, Torin Borne, and Mya Vinnett. Great grandfather of Tiere Vinnett and Taige James. Brother of Russell E. Vinnett, Ina V. Rising, and Marba F. Henry Step father of Rainie Vinnett, Chasity Alexis, and Katrina Jackson. Also survived by three step-grandchildren, caregiver Geraldine Marshall, four nieces, one nephew and a host of aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends. A native of St. Rose, a resident of LaPlace and most recently of Hahnville. Funeral services were held at Fifth African Baptist Church in St. Rose on Friday, June 29. Pastor Gerald Vinnett officiated. Interment followed at Jefferson Memorial Gardens Cemetery, St. Rose.
