Son of Norco natives drafted by Baltimore
Colin Poche, son of Norco natives Susan (Bennett) and Dan Poche, was drafted in the fifth round (162 pick) by the Baltimore Orioles.

Colin is a 6’3, 190-pound hurler from Marcus High School in Flower Mound, Texas. He has a college commitment to the University of Arkansas.

Colin played in the WWBA World Championships last fall in Jupiter, Fla. and threw three shutout innings with six strikeouts. He also helped the D-BAT Mustangs to the 2011 Connie Mack World Series.

He was recently named to the 8-5A All-District Team and was named Outstanding Pitcher of the Year for his performance at Marcus High School during the spring.

Colin is the grandson of Lucy Bennett, the late Virgil Bennett, and Jim and Pat Poche of Norco.
