Man accused of kicking down door, assaulting ex-girlfriend
A 24-year-old Metairie man was arrested after authorities say he forced his way into the Norco home of an ex-girlfriend and attacked two people inside the residence.
Corey Hutchinson, of 802 Warsaw St., was booked with aggravated burglary, simple battery, violation of a protective order, unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling, stalking and making a harassing phone call.
In February of 2010, authorities say that Hutchinson kicked down the door of his ex-girlfriend’s home and punched her several times in the face. Hutchinson also attacked a man who was at the residence, according to Capt. Pat Yoes, Sheriff’s Office spokesman.
The victim had filed a restraining order against Hutchinson before the attack.
Yoes said that Hutchinson managed to evade capture after the incident, but he was eventually arrested in another parish for an unrelated crime.
"When he finished serving his sentence there he was released and transferred to St. Charles to face these charges," Yoes said.
