Norbert "N.J." Joseph Bourgeois Jr.
Norbert "N.J." Joseph Bourgeois Jr., 83, passed away on Feb. 20, 2012.
He was the son of Norbert Joseph Bourgeois Sr. and Octavia Lasalle Bourgeois, beloved husband of 53 years to Shirley Cortese Bourgeois, father of the late Shirleen Michel, grandfather of Norbert, Keith and Vickie Michel and great-grandfather of Hunter Michel. He is survived by his sister, Lorraine B. Klann and several nieces and nephews.
Born in New Orleans, he was a resident of Destrehan since 1995. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy and served his country during World War II. He retired from Donovan Marine in 1996 after 40 years. He was a a Eucharistic Minister at St. Charles Borromeo Church and a member of the Men of Manresa. He was awarded the Order of St. Louis Medal by the Archdiocese of New Orleans.
Services were held Feb. 23 at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Destrehan with burial at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum in New Orleans. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to The Men of Manresa.
