Celebrations mark St. Patrick’s Day in style
NEW ORLEANS/METAIRIE - Everyone gets to be Irish for the day on March 17, but the whole weekend will be full of events honoring St. Patrick’s Day – Louisiana style. Start the week off right with a St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Metairie Road, beginning at noon on March 11. On March 15, head to Parasol’s, 2533 Constance St. in New Orleans, for their annual block party from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. When the big day finally arrives, watch the big Irish Channel Parade at 1 p.m. or head to Tracey’s, 2604 Magazine St. in New Orleans, for their St. Paddy’s Day Party beginning at 11 a.m. Those heading downtown for the day will also get a chance to catch the Downtown Irish Club Parade at 6 p.m. On March 18, finish off the weekend with the Louisiana Irish-Italian Parade in Metairie at noon.
