Hospital employees accompanied "Mrs. Peanut" in the parade, collecting donations of peanut butter and money along the way.
Thanks to the generosity of the community, the hospital was able to collect 426 jars of peanut butter and $413.53 in cash.
St. Charles Social Concerns provides approximately 50 food baskets monthly to St. Charles Parish residents, and peanut butter is a staple item in these baskets as it is high in protein and has a long shelf life.
