Monica D. Landry on Fri., Oct. 13. Age 45. Native and resident of Des Allemands. Daughter of Roland and Nellie T. Dufrene. Survived by husband Louis Landry; children, Jay and wife Emily Landry, Zachary Landry and Ashley Landry; brother Stuart Dufrene; sister Valerie Duhon; grandson Ethan Landry. Mass of Christian Burial was held on Fri., Oct. 13 at St. Gertrude Catholic Church in Des Allemands. Interment at St. Joseph Cemetery. Serviced by Thibodaux Funeral Home.
Matherne
Jerry Amos Matherne, on Mon., Oct. 9, at 10:35 a.m. in Jefferson, La. Beloved husband of Rita Dufrene Matherne. Father of Keith Matherne, Sr., Kerry Matherne, Karen Fedrick, Patricia Radford, Carla Matherne, Claire Doucet, Jill Matherne, Kate Loupe and the late Kevin Matherne. Son of the late Hildes and Lovinia Matherne. Brother of Wilmont Matherne, Beulah Comardelle and the late Luther Matherne, Lilly Matherne and Dorothy Howeth. Also survived by 15 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. A native of Des Allemands and a resident of Larose. Age 67 years. Relatives and friends of the family were invited to attend the funeral. Religious services at the Des Allemands Mennonite Church on Fri., Oct. 13, at 10 a.m. Interment Mennonite Cemetery. Visitation was from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Thursday and from 8 a.m. until funeral time Friday at Des Allemands Mennonite Church. Falgout Funeral Homes in charge of arrangements.
Champagne
Lois Champagne on Friday, Oct. 6 at Denton Regional Medical Center in Denton, Texas. Daughter of Gladys Gross Walker and the late Oliver Walker. Wife of the late Norward Champagne. Mother of Ave Griffin of Corinth, Texas, Belinda Conner of Alabama, Charlitarage Edwards of Woodlands, Texas, Tony Champagne of Baton Rouge, Terry Champagne of Wisconsin, Don Champagne of Austin, Demetrius Champagne of New Orleans, and the late David Champagne and Norward Champagne, Jr. Sister of Shirley Mae Washington, Jacqueline and William Walker, the late Eldridge and Juanita Walker. Also survived by 22 grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Age 76 years. A native of New Orleans and a resident of Corinth, Texas since Katrina. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of True Vine Baptist Church and all neighboring churches were invited to attend the funeral sevice at True Vine Baptist Church, 320 Courthouse Lane, Hahnville on Mon., Oct. 16, at 11 a.m. Rev. Allen LaGrange, pastor, officiating. Interment Holy Rosary Cemetery, Taft, La. Visitation was at the above named church was at 9 a.m. until service time. Serviced by Robottom.

Speed patrols return to I-310 after months-long absence - 1774 views
Over the past four months, those who often travel the elevated portions of I-10 and I-310 in St. Charles Parish have noticed a lack of state troopers on the interstate.
