Portion of Beaupre Drive to close for 6 weeks

Beaupre Drive near Cottage Drive in Luling will be closed to traffic for six weeks for the installation of a new drainage culvert, according to St. Charles Parish officials.

The closure began on Feb. 27 and detour signs will be posted throughout the project. A similar closure on Willowdale Boulevard was recently reopened.

On Jan. 30, Willowdale Boulevard was closed to traffic between Michael Drive and Cottage Drive for the replacement of a 36-inch culvert. Now, the 40-inch Culvert on Beaupre Drive will be replaced.

The culverts are being replaced in order to prevent flooding in surrounding neighborhoods.
