Hollywood starlets film basketball movie in St. Charles
A new movie called "The Hot Flashes" has been filming in areas around St. Charles Parish, according to Corey Faucheaux, the parish’s director of economic development.
The film stars Daryl Hannah, Brooke Shields, Melanie Griffith, Camryn Manheim and Wanda Sykes as members of a basketball team of middle-aged Texas women who were former high school champs. They challenge the current high school girls’ state champs to raise money for breast cancer prevention.
Faucheaux said the parish benefits from movies that film in St. Charles because production crews spend money on things such as renting property and equipment, catering and purchasing gas.
